Shut The Front Door...I've Done It!

So, my dear friends, I’ve only gone and actually done it. I am now a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer! Get me! I even have my own business cards!

The course was fantastic and I like to thank my course tutor, Mike, for doing a great job. Having used a gym for years and thinking I knew quite a lot, which I did by the way, I now have a much better understanding of different training techniques and why we do them. I’ve gone from a doer to a ‘ah, that makes sense now’.

So if you are looking to build on your fitness, increase your strength, run further and/or faster or just simply feel comfortable going into a gym and doing a workout give me a shout. We’ll sit down, look at your goals, current fitness levels and lifestyle and then come up with a Short-Term, Medium-Term and Long-Term plan to get you to where you want to be. Hopefully in a fun way! Shouting at me and calling me names is allowed, in fact I expect it otherwise I may not be pushing you enough!

Remember…call me! I will keep shamelessly plugging myself to anyone that will listen!

Whilst completing the course I have been training relentlessly. I have a new challenge to set for anyone that wishes to give it ago. As I said in my last blog rather than just running on the treadmill for 45-60 minutes I have been breaking my CV session up to make it more interesting. So I have been completing 15 minutes each on the following machines:

X-Trainer

Treadmill

Rowing Machine

Bike

My weekly challenge is to complete 2KM on each and record your time. You start the clock at the beginning on the X-Trainer and keep it running until you finish the last machine. That is then your time to beat. My current time is 44mins 46secs. I plan to do this once a week to see if I can bring the time down steadily. Fancy taking up the challenge? Post your time in the comments section and we can compete against each other!

Date 8KM Challenge 10KM Challenge

21/02/18 00:44:46 00:49:58

28/02/18 00:39:49 00:44:46

There is chance I wasn’t going all out on my first try!! I have also thrown in a second challenge making the bike element 4KM rather than 2KM…just for fun obvs!

If you don’t fancy the challenge try the hour CV session, I promise it will get the heart pumping and the calories burning…as well as one or two muscles!

My next steps now is to build experience with clients and I am looking at a few gyms to work out of. In the summer though I hope to be running sessions outdoors. Suns out, Guns out! Training in the sun and fresh air is something else and we will be taking advantage of that once the weather improves. If you fancy a boot camp session let me know and I'll look to arrange something to suit. We can arrange smaller PT sessions rather than just 1-2-1's, so if you and some friends want to give it a go give me a shout. And of course 1-2-1 sessions either in the gym or outside can be arranged at times that suit you. Call me and we can chat about it.

The next Blog will include more details of the locations I will be working from. I will also start to include my food diaries and training schedules so you can see my progress. I may even put my weight and fitness test results on for you to see. Having completed a number of fitness tests a couple of weeks ago, I plan to redo them towards the end of March.

So onwards and upwards for me. Now I’m fully qualified the real fun will begin. Wish me luck!
